William Bonny was a real person, living in New Mexico in the lat 1870's. The idea that he had killed 21 people by the time he was 21 has captivated readers since the dime novels first started featuring him. The only purported picture is pretty unpreposessing!!

He looks like a retard, huh? Actually, according to many accounts, he didn't look quite that stupid. But he probably didn't look as good as Kris Kristoferson in the classic movie, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. (1973) (I will discuss that movie in detail here.) Young Guns (1988) is the movie everyone talks about, when they get together to talk about Billy and The Lincoln County Wars. It's a pretty good movie, altho I have trouble keeping track of everybody. I guess it's because I'm not from (or in) the area!
