Louis L'Amour  Oh my gosh.  My first cut at this page left out Louis.  Heaven forfend.  I have read almost everything he wrote, in times past.

William Johnstone.  Charlotte (my EX) was a fan of his.  The books are remarkably similar. 

Jack Shaefer wrote a number of wonderful short stories, the best known of which is Shane.
